Zouz

It is to answer to a need for a free and effervescent musical playing field that the power trio zouz was born in 2016. David Marchand (vocals & guitar), Étienne Dupré (bass) and Francis Ledoux (drums) explore the unpredictable and give themselves the necessary space to compose in an instinctive way, opening the door to a free, rich and incisive rock. The explorations made on the EP1 (2017) and the EP2 (2018) allow zouz to refine their own codes, then a first full-length album, Vertiges, was released in October 2021. It takes on a whole new meaning on stage since its release, the group performing more than 130 shows across Quebec, France and the United States. It is at Simone Records that the group embarks on a new chapter in October 2024 with the release of a second intense and abrasive album, Jours de cendre, benefiting from the external perspective of Alexandre Martel in the co-production. Since the release of Jours de cendre, zouz has been gaining recognition and making a notable presence on stage. Known for the power of his stage performances, zouz has presented his shows across Quebec and internationally. With «Le vice et le culte,» their latest single, zouz is embarking on a new chapter and sketching the contours of a third album expected soon.
